Guru Nanak Jayanti or Gurupurab is actually a Sikh festival. Guru Nanak Gurpurab is also known as Guru Nanak’s Prakash Utsav. Today not only sikh community even Hindus and other followers of Guru Nanak’s philosophy also celebrate this festival. This is one of the most sacred festivals in Sikhism.  This festival basically celebrated in remembrance of Sikh guru the Guru Nanak ji. Guru Nanak Dev, the first Sikh guru and the founder of the Sikh religion, was born on the full moon day in the month of Kartik as per the Hindu calendar. Hence, his birthday is celebrated as Guru Nanak Jayanti or Guru Nanak Gurpurab. Guru Nanak Dev, in real had given great identity to Sikh community.
